  • At Runser Wellness & Functional Medicine many of our patients are:

    • Tired of seeing different doctors for different symptoms and being told everything looks good.

    • Frustrated by being told their labs are “normal” even though they do not feel good.

    • Discouraged by being placed on medications that mask the symptoms but do not treat the root cause and have side effects.

    • Women ages 20-55 who are often dealing with gut, autoimmune and hormone issues.

We do not see children 0-16.

  • Runser Wellness is not acute care or family medicine. We are geared toward well care, not sick  care and offer a holistic journey to healing.

  • Interested in getting started with Runser Wellness & Functional Medicine? Here’s what to expect in the beginning.

First, we start with scheduling a 10 minute discovery call to see if Runser Wellness is an appropriate fit for you. If so, we have you fill out a packet of health information in advance of your initial consultation. After that we schedule your initial consultation, which is 90-120 minutes. Your individual plan is developed during this visit and any necessary labs are ordered at this time. Our approach is a unique and science based approach to the root of the issue. We use labs to test, not guess, at what the root issue is.

  • We accept cash or credit cards. We do not accept insurance. At Runser Wellness & Functional Medicine we recognize that it is an investment in your health. Functional medicine is free from the restrictions of insurance reimbursement allowing us to spend more time with patients.

  • Conventional medicine is the mainstream healthcare system practiced by most medical doctors and is often driven by insurance reimbursement. The main focus of conventional medicine is to address the symptoms of a condition using pharmaceuticals, surgeries, and other medical interventions. Conventional Medicine is needed for emergencies and lifesaving measures and is not usually the best option for treating chronic diseases, promoting overall wellness, and prevention.

Functional medicine is free from the restrictions of insurance reimbursement and allows practitioners to spend more time with patients focusing on factors like nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, and environmental influences to find the root cause of the condition. Labs, supplements and medicine may be used to determine and treat the root cause. A functional medicine treatment plan is patient-centered and requires persistence and dedication. Many times the healing is a holistic journey.

Functional medicine does require an upfront cost. At Runser Wellness & Functional Medicine we recognize that it is an investment in your health. Our end goal, taking a whole body approach, is to heal your mind, body and spirit, and to teach you how to live a healthy life so you won’t need our services long.
